Meeting Proves A Success
Purley Lodge in association
with the Provincial Grand Master and members of the St
Patrick Group conducted a very special Ceremony of
Initiation.
Purley Lodge
was honoured and privileged to have distinguished
Brethren from the Province and over 100 Brethren from
various lodges throughout the Province in attendance for
what proved to be a memorable occasion. The event was
held in aid of the 2008 Festival for the Royal Masonic
Trust For Girls and Boys.
Through the
generosity of all those present over £1,600 was raised.
The Provincial Grand Master conveyed his thanks for the
work that was put in to mark the success of the
occasion. He will be announcing the final total at the
festival Gala Dinner and Dance on May 9th. The target is
3 Million.

Surrey 2008 Festival
The
Province of Surrey is very pleased to be hosting the 2008
Festival to benefit the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and boys.
A whole host of fund raising activities are being held
throughout the Province including a wide range of Festival
Merchandise including ties, lapel pins, festival handkerchiefs
and cufflinks.

The launch also includes the
Festival Jewel - designed for the Surrey Festival and will
compliment other merchandise. The Provincial Grand Master states
in his festival launch speech, that he has set no target amount
but to date (February 2006), over £1,200,000 has been raised!
New web
site proving a success
At first
we wondered if it would work but in the modern world,
regardless, everyone needs a web site. Our aim was to provide
enough information to enable individuals to make their own
decision as to whether Freemasonry was something they could get
involved with. Purley Lodge have been very successful in this
area with a gentle 'trickle' of enquiries that have led to new
candidates joining us.
Over the past couple of years or so, no
fewer than 5 new members have joined us. Most have now become
Master Masons and are gaining stature in the Lodge. The emphasis is
on quality rather than quantity. Couple this with new ideas and
their willingness to progress Purley Lodge has never been in
better shape for the future.
